A giant leap

For a while now I have known this leap I have finally made was going to happen. I just had to wait for my mind to catch up with my heart..

Over the years I have sought a lot of help from natural therapies and professionals. Including accupunturists, naturopaths, nutritionists, kinesiologists, cranial sacral therapists, nutritionists and homeopaths. You name it, i’ve probably experienced it. All in the hope of feeling good, better and balanced.

Due to my amazing mother who has mostly self treated her way through colitis, breast cancer and rheumatoid arthritis, I have seen the amazing way holistic natural treatment can work so this has continued to be the direction I turn when not well. And with like minded friends recommendations I branched out further into this world.

It sits so well with me. I am open minded, a believer in the power of energy, nutrition and self care. So experiencing these ways of reaching and maintaining balance has enthused and fascinated me. To the point that deep down I knew this would become my career in some form.

With food being my ultimate passion and a huge part of my self care, I knew that which ever holistic therapy I would choose, it would be heavily linked to nutrition. Particularly as I am completing the SANO diploma in applied nutrition.

But for me, I wanted to not just support and advise someone, I wanted something that meant I could treat or work towards treating someone fully. So my research began, thinking of what I had experienced, what worked well for me and what sat right and made sense to me.

I kept coming back to one thing, Kinesiology. I experienced great things when I was treated by a kinesiologist, and the more I read, the more it connected with me. I discovered that there are two main types, one that works more on the surface and offers advice, and the other goes deeper, working more holistically to treat someone, have them become balanced and maintain balance. This is what I want to do, I want to help people feel great and stay that way.

So I found the course, and I called them up, someone had just dropped out so they had a place for me start the following week. It was clearly meant to be!

I booked on and instantly felt so excited and joyful to finally be committing to something I really wanted to do for a long time, but hadn’t quite felt ready to do so until now and it all fell into place so perfectly.

What is Kinesiology

The type of kinesiology I am going to be studying is called Systematic Kinesiology. It uses simple, safe and precise muscle testing procedures on the whole body to find problem areas.

With each muscle being connected energetically to organs, emotions, meridians, lymphatic and neuro vascular points.

Kinesiology uses muscle testing to read the energetic bio feedback from our bodies to find where health issues stem from, where imbalances and/or energy drains are and what particular stresses are affecting you.

Then Kinesiology works to correct those imbalances using specialised lymphatic massage, nutrition, electrical and energy balancing and emotional work, to bring the body back into balance holistically.

This really excites me and totally blows my mind at the same time. It really is one of those things that you have to experience to believe just how amazing it is!

I am two days into my training and I am learning so much already. I am completely buzzing. It feels amazing to be learning something new and something I am so passionate and engaged with, its great to be around like minded people, experiencing and discovering the wonders of kinesiology together.

I am sure there will be many more blog posts on Kinesiology over the next year while I study and train. I may become a bit of a broken record while I learn, going on about how awesome Kinesiology is and discovering how amazing our bodies really are if we give them the tools to work properly, but I don’t care! Im in love.

Fancy a treatment?

Over the next few months I will need to practice techniques on people and this will develop into full treatments for case studies. All of which will take you towards amazing health.
